Carriacou's quiet waters are the perfect place to start scuba diving.
We offer a range of PADI and SSI courses & specialties.
You learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. If you make an open water dive, you’ll practice a few more skills in shallow water to prepare for your adventure. Get ready to:
-Go over the scuba equipment you use to dive and how easy it is to move around underwater with your gear.
-Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater.
-Learn key skills that you’ll use during every scuba dive.
-Have fun swimming around and exploring.
-Hear about becoming a certified diver through the PADI Open Water Diver course.
We will welcome you at the dive centre at 9am to check that the equipment fits correctly and go through some simple paperwork then we set off to a beautiful sandy bay around 20 minutes from the dive centre.
Firstly, we give you an in depth briefing at the beach then we enter the water and do three very basic skills in shallow, calm water. We then we will take you on a dive around the reef, which is teeming with life to a maximum of six meters with a PADI Instructor and a Divemaster who will take photos of your time underwater which you can purchase to show friends and family back home if you wish.
After a short surface break, we head back in to do a second dive to a new depth of 12 metres where you have a good chance of seeing Stingrays, Octopus, nurse sharks (completely harmless) and maybe even a Turtle or two!
This truly amazing experience includes all equipment, insurance cover, transportation in our locally built Caribbean dive boat.
Our guides are extremely professional, experienced and friendly and they will do their utmost to create a very special day for you.
There will be a maximum ratio of 4 students to 1 instructor. Minimum age 10 years old

“What was that fish?” is a common question heard after a dive. If you want to be the scuba diver with the answers, instead of the one asking the questions, then take the Fish Identification Specialty course. You'll enjoy your dives even more when you recognise the creatures that you see and can identify the main fish families and their characteristics.
If you're at least 10 years old and a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or higher, you can enrol in the PADI - Fish Identification course.
Once you learn to recognise what types of fish you see, you'll find it easier to reference the exact species after a scuba dive. For example, a butterfly fish in the Caribbean has a similar shape to a butterfly fish in Southeast Asia, but colours and markings may be wildly different. If you know what fish family it belongs to, you can more easily look up the local name or at least be able to intelligently ask the local scuba instructor what you saw.
During two scuba dives, you'll learn:
-How to identify characteristics of local fish families and species.
-Fish survey techniques and strategies.
-About Project AWARE activities that can help protect aquatic life
Get credit! The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification - ask your instructor about earning credit.
Beyond using basic scuba equipment, you’ll want a slate to record what you see and a fish identification card if available for your area. Your PADI Instructor and local dive centre staff may suggest additional equipment or references depending on what you’re likely to see on your dives.
